CODDB Headquarters
Bilbao
The new CODDB headquarters in Bilbao has been conceived as a meeting place and a serene, warm and contemporary work environment, where preserved vegetation complements the architecture and enhances the everyday experience of those who use it.
At Greenarea, we designed the common areas and reception spaces through bespoke planters and organic-shaped green islands. The composition combines different preserved species, shrubs and small trees, bringing volume, depth and a constant natural presence to the interior without the need for irrigation or natural light.
The curved planters structure the space and create informal meeting areas, while the vegetation softens the project’s mineral materiality, achieving a balance between clean lines, neutral tones and living textures. Integrated lighting enhances this relationship: it washes over the botanical compositions, highlights their volumes and casts subtle shadows that transform the perception of the space throughout the journey.
In the reception area, the botanical compositions complement the glass partitions and reinforce the identity of the space from the moment visitors arrive.
The result is a more human and welcoming headquarters: an interior landscape designed to foster wellbeing and connection, while also serving as a statement of intent for the College of Interior Designers of Bizkaia. A space that highlights the importance of bringing together design, furniture, materials, lighting and vegetation with the expertise of the professionals who shape them, towards a shared goal: creating interiors that improve the way we live, work and connect with one another.
